HavenMakers

Our job as homemakers can be summed up simply as this:
To create and maintain a haven for our family.

No matter the size or location of the home, or the value of it's contents, it is your family's haven.

Women have a unique ability to make mud huts, grass houses, and caves a haven for their families that exude love and warmth. Trust that you, singlehandedly, have the power to create your family's haven.

This is the place your husband comes home to after a long day at work to put up his feet. The place your children feel safe and cozy. It is the epicenter of your family's life.

Cherish the assignment you were given as "homemaker." You're truly a havenmaker. It may just be the most rewarding, love-filled job out there. Memories rest in your hands. You get to create them. Make them good, loving memories, because let's face it. Good or bad, those memories will be there for a lifetime.

Don't try to put a dollar value on your current assignment in life. It doesn't matter if society says you're worth $150,000 a year because you can cook, clean and wipe baby bottoms. Your assignment is so much more than that. You influence futures and you forever hold a place in other's hearts.

This is just a season of our lives. It may be long or short, but it is a season, and the seasons will change eventually. Let's not let this pass us by. Get off Facebook and put down the iPhones. Bake those cookies, light that candle, dust off that board game.

“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”
